Mobile Sewage Cleanup Bus

Background and Structure: The Mobile Sewage Cleanup Bus is designed to address the critical sanitation needs of the homeless and unhomed populations by providing essential waste management services. The bus is equipped with holding tanks and the necessary equipment to drain grey and black water tanks from personal mobile units, Skoolie Foundation's mobile shelters, and outdoor bathroom facilities.

Goals and Objectives:

Goal: Improve public health and sanitation for homeless and unhomed communities.

Objectives:

  • Provide regular and reliable sewage cleanup services on a scheduled and referral basis.
  • Ensure safe and legal disposal of waste in designated areas in collaboration with local county authorities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and prevent the spread of diseases in underserved areas.


Target Population:

  • Homeless and unhomed individuals with mobile living units.
  • Residents of Skoolie Foundation's mobile shelters.
  • Users of outdoor bathroom facilities in underserved communities.


Expected Outcomes:

  • Enhanced public health and hygiene through regular waste removal.
  • Reduced risk of disease and infection caused by unsanitary conditions.
  • Compliance with local waste management laws and regulations.


Service Delivery:

  • The bus will operate on a scheduled basis, with additional services available through referrals.
  • Waste will be collected from designated areas and disposed of at approved sites in accordance with local waste management regulations.
  • Coordination with local county authorities to ensure proper disposal and adherence to environmental standards.

  • Outfitted with state-of-the-art holding tanks and sewage cleanup equipment.
  • Scheduled routes to maximize efficiency and coverage.
  • Ability to service Skoolie Foundation's mobile shelters and community outdoor bathroom facilities.

  • Continuous collaboration with local authorities to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
