Skoolie Foundation Medical Mobile Program – Ollie

Our Mission

 Program Vision

The Skoolie Foundation’s Medical Mobile Program, powered by our unit Ollie, is designed to bring accessible, compassionate, and immediate medical care to our homeless neighbors and community members in need. Healthcare is not a privilege—it is a right, and Ollie is our step toward bridging the gap between people and the care they deserve.

About SKOOLIE FOUNDATION

Program Purpose

  • Provide on-site medical assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness who often face barriers to traditional healthcare.
  • Create a community-driven medical team composed of nursing students, certified nurses, nurse practitioners, and physicians who are passionate about making a positive impact.
  • Build strong hospital and local healthcare partnerships to ensure sustainability, referrals, and professional oversight.
  • Partner with community organizations to bring Ollie to events, resource fairs, and outreach locations where medical needs are highest.
  • Offer Ollie as a leased commissary unit for local partners when not in use for direct outreach. Leasing revenue directly supports the medical program’s supplies and operational costs.

Program Goals & Impact

 Direct Community Care

  • Provide wound care, wellness checks, basic screenings, first aid, and preventative health education.
  • Assist with referrals to hospitals, mental health services, addiction treatment, and long-term care.
  • Deliver medical support where people live: in encampments, safe parking areas, transitional shelters, and on the streets.

  1. Educational & Workforce Development
    • Provide nursing students and new professionals with real-world field experience, fostering service-minded leaders in healthcare.
    • Engage volunteers in meaningful work that improves their skills and creates professional pathways.

  1. Sustainability & Growth
    • Lease Ollie to local partners for commissary or mobile support at events, creating a self-sustaining revenue stream.
    • Expand capacity to eventually include mobile dental and mental health services.

Partnerships Needed

  • Local Hospitals & Clinics: For referrals, supply donations, and professional oversight.

  • Medical Schools & Nursing Programs: For student engagement and field training opportunities.

  • Community Nonprofits: To co-host outreach events, resource fairs, and neighborhood-based care initiatives.

  • Sponsors & Donors: To cover medical supplies, volunteer training, insurance, and operational expenses.

Volunteers needed

If you are a nursing student, nurse, nurse practitioner, or physician looking to make a lasting impact—this is your opportunity. Join us in shaping the future of mobile community healthcare.

Together, we can ensure that even the most vulnerable members of our community are seen, cared for, and treated with dignity.

“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they have the heart.”

— Elizabeth Andrew
