Our Mission: Building Hope, Restoring Dignity
At the Skoolie Foundation, we believe that no one should be left without shelter, dignity, or hope. Our programs are designed to meet people where they are—whether they are families with children, veterans, survivors of domestic violence, or individuals facing sudden crises—and provide a clear pathway from hardship to stability.
Through our purpose-built Skoolie mobile shelters, Safe Parking sites, Hygiene Havens, food programs, and community campuses, we create more than temporary relief—we create opportunities for lasting change. Each service is intentionally designed to not only meet urgent needs but to foster resilience, confidence, and community connection.
Our vision is bold but simple: to end cycles of homelessness by building Skoolie Campuses that serve as hubs of hope. With safe parking, tiny homes, thrift stores, food programs, and employment opportunities, our campuses are designed to restore dignity and inspire transformation. Together with our community partners, we aim to ensure that every person—no matter their past—has the chance to create a better future.
At the Skoolie Foundation Campus, our mission is to provide compassionate support for families with children, veterans, survivors of domestic violence, and individuals facing crisis. Unlike traditional shelters, our approach offers safe alternatives through mobile shelters, tiny homes, and community-based housing. With land secured, our campuses are designed for staged growth, offering earned extended stays, employment opportunities in on-site operations, and pathways toward permanent housing. By partnering with local nonprofits, churches, and community organizations, we ensure wraparound support that restores dignity, builds confidence, and helps our neighbors move from crisis to stability.
At Skoolie Safe Parking, our mission is to provide safe, secure, and dignified parking spaces for individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. Each site is designed to prioritize well-being and safety while fostering a sense of respect, community, and stability for every guest.
Our vision is to establish Safe Parking at every Skoolie Campus while also partnering with businesses, nonprofits, and churches to expand access beyond our walls. Together, we are working toward a network of 10 or more safe parking sites in every county, ensuring that vulnerable members of our community have a secure place to rest, access supportive services, and begin their journey toward stability and self-sufficiency.
The Skoolie Cooling and Heating Station project repurposes gutted school buses to provide climate-controlled, off-grid shelters for individuals experiencing homelessness during extreme weather conditions. These mobile units are equipped with solar-powered air conditioning and heating systems, along with cots and security measures, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. The project aims to offer immediate relief during heatwaves and freezing temperatures, enhancing the well-being of vulnerable populations in our community.
Our Residential Housing Program is the second step in the Skoolie Foundation’s Mobile Shelter pathway. This initiative provides a transitional living opportunity for individuals who have successfully completed our six-month Mobile Shelter Program.
Through this project, we rent or purchase homes where rooms are transformed into shared dorm-style or barracks-style housing. Guests live here for six months as they reacclimate to residential living, learning the responsibilities and rhythms of maintaining a stable home environment.
All of our programs are designed to move our guests from a negative situation to a positive future. The Residential Housing Program is a vital step toward stability—it bridges the gap between temporary shelter and permanent housing.
At the completion of this six-month program, we continue to walk alongside our guests by assisting them in securing long-term, sustainable housing as they graduate into full independence.
We Have had to pause this project due to lack of support
The Skoolie Shopping Cart Project aims to partner with local retail stores to retrieve, clean, and return shopping carts found in homeless camps and other areas. By pressure washing and sanitizing the carts before returning them, this project helps clean up the community while providing employment opportunities and fostering stronger neighborhood connections.
At the Skoolie Veterans project, our mission is to honor the service and sacrifice of our nation's veterans by providing them with tailored residential housing solutions and fostering a supportive community environment where they can thrive with dignity and independence. Through personalized care plans, innovative housing initiatives, and collaborative community development efforts, we aim to empower veterans to lead fulfilling lives and create a lasting sense of pride and camaraderie among those who have served our country.
The Skoolie Foundation's Land Preservation Project aims to secure land through ownership or leasing to support our mobile shelter programs and provide a sanctuary for holistic therapy. This project is designed to offer a safe and peaceful environment where individuals can unplug, recenter, and engage in various healing practices. As well has house our mobile shelters for temporary housing sites.

Now the hard costs are much more advanced. Security monitoring system, staff to insure the safety of the person utilizing the facility, Clean linen's and cleaning the interior daily. Draining the grey water and black water tanks. and much more. A lot has gone into the planning and development of each Mobile Skoolie Shelter.
This ia one of the best features. We have designed our Mobile Skoolie Shelters to be 100% off grid capable. so they are solar powered!
Where ever we are needed the most and who ever has scheduled our calendar dates. Our Shelters are mobile giving our organization the ability to transport them anywhere.
It is our goal to obtain land where ever we have a chapter presence. This land will be used to park all of our shelters for more stable placement. We will have One primary shelter that will be our local response at all times.
In the event of a local emergency our Mobile shelters can be mobilized withing the day to help out our community.
