What your support did in 2025

The Skoolie Foundation turns retired school buses into mobile showers, food distribution and safe shelter for neighbors across Pierce, Thurston, South King and Kitsap Counties, Washington. Here is what the community made possible last year.

Bags of Hope

Hygiene Haven mobile showers

Private, safe shower stalls on a bus, with care taken for women, children and LGBTQIA+ guests. More than 1,000 showers in 2025. $25 sponsors one hot shower.

Haircuts for Hope

Families fed through the shutdown

Free haircuts at libraries, parks and schools, with volunteer barbers. More than 500 in 2025. Guests tell us a fresh haircut is what makes a job interview or a housing appointment feel possible again.

Families fed through the shutdown

When the federal shutdown ran from October into December 2025, many working families lost SNAP benefits and paychecks overnight. Through our food network and partners, we delivered free groceries to more than 4,000 families in that stretch. Many had never asked for help before.

Growing in 2026

In 2025 we brought Nurture Hope into the Foundation, a Thurston County shower program with more than 5,000 showers over five years and long partnerships with the City of Olympia and Thurston County. Next on the road: the NOAH inclement-weather bus, a laundry bus, Safe Night Parking and a mobile medical unit, each one launched as funding partners come on board.
